The Graduate

Well at long last Col is done with exams, papers, lectures and the dreaded CBL. Her convocation was today at the Jubilee Auditorium and everyone turned up to satisfy themselves that, yes, it was all true and no there would be no more studying. We're all very proud to see her graduate with distinction and I for one look forward to taking some time off now and becoming a stay-at-home-dad (with no kids). Congratulations!

Remembrance Day

One of the very special things that happened at Granny's birthday party was that her niece, Cathy, presented her with a letter that her family had found in their basement during a cleanup. The letter was one that Havelock had written to Ruth from London on V-E Day when the war was finally over and the streets were filled with celebrations and parades. Ruth hadn't seen it for over 50 years and it was a really sweet gift. The story made it in to the Edmonton Journal on Remembrance Day this year along with this photo.
